We paid 3,000 for a 10 night studio stay for a family of 4 we thought that was really cheap compared To other places so we weren't expecting much. As soon as we checked in we got the friendlest staff straight away. If you are looking for things to do they also have a huge bunch of brochures right next to the reception. We also weren't expecting a table tennis room and the pool is great. Another great thing is the beautiful Swans that greeted us and the stunning lake view room was great only complaint is no stove and a couple of ants were crawling around usually air con was also fully functional so was the fan overall amazing place would come again.
Overall was very pleased with our stay. Spend 4 nights here and honestly have minor complaints. The mixed reviews had me hesitant on staying however we found the place to be quite nice for price. Our room was number 6 and mother in law stayed in 6A and the rooms were clean. Smelt perfectly fine (my wife has a sensitive nose and had no issues). Both units renovated. Quite spacious for 2A and 1C. Could have had slightly better window coverage but it was fine. The people around were friendly. A few extra towels would have been helpful at the start but when asked they were supplied. Comfortable bed and furniture. Undercover parking was supplied. Reception is limited on the weekend however Donna is there throughout the week and couldn’t be more helpful, as we had booked but then called weeks later asking for rooms to be next to one another and was more than happy to help us out. Location is fantastic 5 mins from beach and 200m from shops. Only 15 mins from airport. Would stay again.
We stayed 2 nights and got a lake view room , we should of paid extra to get a renovated room . The view was great , loved the view and the place was clean but the room itself could use some TLC , the lounge was extremely uncomfortable the …
The pictures on the website are not what you experience in the room. We had Unit 13 with a lake view but the room was dirty from the get go. The bed was so uncomfortable and should be replaced it’s that old. The couch is a sofa bed but also old that you sink through the cushions. The 2 chairs at the table was very uncomfortable and there was food crumbs between the stove and counter. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty and one of the towels had a large number of holes in it. Windows were revolting. The whole unit is tiled and it needs a deep clean and a good scrub. All the curtains could use a good wash as well.
It was nice to see the swans come up from the lake but when they poop at your door it’s disgusting and they stay at your door when you eat.(We did not feed them at all).
Whilst I rate our unit a score of 1 our friends stayed in other units and they were better than ours. Be aware there is a lot of permanent residence that live there…
Wow where do i start
We stayed for 2 nights as soon as we walked in the room had a strong smell of tobacco smoke.
Really old run down room, bed super uncomfortable, wifi didnt exist password on keyring didnt work, no complimentary tea or coffee, fridge didnt work it froze everything, mould in bathroom not clean and found cockroaches in our room . Had to carry our bags up flight of stairs. No receptionist till day time. Drunk residents obviously live there loud and feral.
Never ever going back definitely do not recommend this awful place. No star accommodation
Everything was really good apart from the bed, it was rock hard. They only give minimal dishes and towels.
Pool was beautiful.
Room was very clean.
Couldn't connect there TV to wifi which was annoying and the fan sounded like it was found to take off lol
Air con worked great
Inadequate room, unable to complete stay, refusing to refund. Withholding $371 (approx)
I had a booking which had to be rescheduled due to COVID and they were provided with a week + notice.
They advised they were happy to hold the amount of $565.79 in credit and we can reschedule, we booked for May.
The room was not fit enough for our stay to have been completed. The window/door coverings had over a meter that was not able to be covered which resulted in not having privacy from the main walkway/balcony and it allowed an excessive and intolerable amount of light into the room which resulted in us not being able to sleep.
The next morning after talking to reception I asked if we could have a refund as we would not be able to stay and no other rooms were suitable/available. She advised their policy is credit as they do not offer refunds however she would put a note on my file we needed a room with an extra 'bedroom' to assist with the amount of light and privacy as all the rooms were the same.
I contacted them in September to arrange to use the credit less the other two parties who were on the original booking and was declined, I was told they had a room available and could offer me it a cheaper price. When I questioned why, Donna advised she would get back to me.
A week later I had no response from Donna so I sent an email advising how upset I was with the customer service received.
I was told they would honour the credit however not on weekends or school holidays. I then requested a refund on the 13th of September and stated as per As per the Australian Consumer Law, Accommodation "
Your guests also have certain rights in the form of consumer guarantees under the ACL. Essentially, accommodation must be fit for any purpose specified by the customer. If it is not, the guest may be able to cancel the booking and obtain a refund (less any amount for any services already provided)
I have been ignore by Bay of Palms despite sending numerous emails and request. Today I contacted WOTIF as I originally booked through them and they tried to assist me to be told Bay of Palms are refusing to refund as "It was a last minute cancellation on the original booking and the reservation has been charged already"
Absolutely disgusting, frankly 1 star is too high.
Recent renovations have made this venue an attractive destination to consider in our choice of hotels in the Gold Coast. While not as luxurious as many other hotels, the room facilities were minimal but adequate for our needs and the cost …
